Promoting Financial Inclusion Through Innovative Policies

FDC is collaborating with the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Finance Corporation, the APEC Business Advisory Council, the Asian Development Bank Institute and the Alliance for Financial Inclusion to convene a high-level policy-makers workshop on financial inclusion in Tokyo from 31 March to 3 April 2009. The workshop seeks to design a policy initiative on financial inclusion to be proposed to APEC Finance Ministers. The draft program is available here.

Microfinance and Disaster Management Workshop: March 2009

The BWTP Network, in conjunction with the Citi-China Microfinance Centre (CCMTC) and the China Association of Microfinance (CAM) is hosting a week-long workshop on Microfinance and Disaster Management in China 9 – 13 March 2009. The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Express in Chengdu and will be attended by microfinance practitioners from several provinces in China. The BWTP Network will be conducting a 3-day Training of Trainer’s workshop, followed by a 2 day workshop for 25 participants representing MFIs and commercial banks. This workshop is funded by the Citi Foundation as an activity of the BWTP Network’s ‘Strengthening Microfinance in Asia through Information Sharing and Capacity Building’ project.
